A distribution network is used for distributing programme signals from a central station to a plurality of receivers (6, 7). The central station exhibits a transmitting device (5) which is used for feeding the distribution network. The transmitting device (5) exhibits a character generator (10, 11, 12) for generating a character signal, a modulator (19, 20, 21) for modulating a radio-frequency carrier signal and an oscillator (16) for generating a clock signal for the character generator (10, 11, 12) and the carrier signal supplied to the modulator (19, 20, 21). The frequency of the clock signal and of the carrier signal have an integral-numbered ratio to one another so that the visible beat effect caused between the carrier signal and the picture signals is reduced. <IMAGE> |
