Recording of high frequency signals on a disc mounted on a turntable. The surface characteristics of the disc will enable it to react to a beam of energy representing the recording signals. The system consists of a frame (22), a base plate (20) a turntable (26) an element (208, 256, 258) which supports the turntable. The energy beam consists of a beam of electron which is intensity modulated in accordance with a Faraday scale (304). Part of the energy to be recorded is tested by reflecting it from a surface which is dispersed in a background which absorbs the energy. The energy is imparted to the surface of the disc via a recording column mounted on a moving cradle. |
