<p>Scanning method is for ultrasonic sectional-image examinations, using multi-element sound heads. It is carried out by intermittently displacing the sound waves over the examining area, by switching edge components on and off, in time-staggered relationship. To the group of edge components which have just been activated are connected the group of components which succeed them in the direction of displacement of sound waves, and at least one sound pulse is emitted and its echoes picked up. Then the other edge components are disconnected, and again at least one sound pulse is emitted and its echoes picked up.</p> |
