1498392 Polycarbonates BAYER AG 20 July 1976 [7 May 1976] 30168/76 Heading C3R The mould release properties of aromatic polycarbonates of Mn at least 10,000 are improved by incorporating 0À5 to 5 wt. per cent of a polycarbonate of Mn 1200 to 9000 having end groups derived from a C 9-26 n-alkanoic or perhaloalkanoic acid. Methods and numerous reactants for preparing both polycarbonates are described. Conventional additives, e.g. dyes, pigments, U.V. or heat stabilizers or glass fibres may also be incorporated. In specific examples polycarbonates of bisphenol A, end-capped with stearic acid and of Mn 1090, 3400 and 2400 are incorporated in a polycarbonate of 4,41- dihydroxy diphenyl-2,2-propane of M.W. 28,000. |
