1498196 Scoring dial C CECCHETTI 16 Dec 1974 [14 Jan 1974] 54223/74 Heading A6D [Also in Division G5] In a scoring dial assembly, finger access through a housing to a dial wheel rotatably supported on a shaft fixed to the housing allows for depression of the dial against spring pressure whereby stop means located adjacent the area of attachment of the shaft and housing is released to allow for manual rotation of the dial and successive segregation of one of a set of spaced indicia; removal of the finger being effective in re-engaging said stop means to prevent inadvertent further rotation of the dial. As shown, part of injection moulded game housing 2 incorporates a fixed fin projection 12 which co-operates with star shaped depression 13 (Fig. 4) in a rotatable score dial 4 to effect multi positional stop means under the action of compression spring 9. Finger engagement of an exposed numbered portion of score dial 4 through aperture 3 allows for depression of the dial against the spring thereby effecting disengagement of the fin and depression stop elements to allow for manual rotation of the dial to expose a new score number. Alternatively, stop means may comprise a plurality of pins co-operating with corresponding wells; and the stop elements may be reversed thereby providing for a projection element on the dial to be received into a depression element in the housing. Further, the indicia may be incorporated on the housing; the rotating dial then being provided with an indicator e.g. a pointer. The housing itself may be open in the area adjacent the top of the dial wheel.
|
