The invention concerns a viscosity sensor and an apparatus comprising such a sensor. The sensor operates according to the principle of measuring the fall time of a piston (2) in a measuring chamber (4) of a calibrated tube immersed in a bath. A cam (6), or any other lifting means, lifts the mobile assembly comprising in its upper part a sensing part (8), in its lower part the piston (2), and a transmitting assembly (9) transmitting to the piston the sensing part (8) movement. A sensor detects the passage of two flanges (13, 10) of the sensing part (8) and passes the data on to a regulator (31). The invention is mainly applicable to the continuous control of a quenching bath. |
