PURPOSE:To produce CO without decreasing gas press. and generating a by-product H2 with industrial advantage by treating a product gas obtd. by partially oxidizing or steam reforming hydrocarbons or carbonaceous substances with a CO absorbing soln. inert to CO2 and refluxing the remaining gas contg. CO2 and H2.
