<p>A non-skid tyre, designed for winter use, has an appropriate tread but contg. particles of friction material which are vulcanised in and bonded to the rubber by diffusion, adhesion and/or true chemical bond; their wear resistance is greater than that of the rubber, so that as the rubber wears uneven the particles become worn out and drop out, leaving impressions. Minimal road wear is achieved and the tyre dispenses with use of chains or need for special rubber.</p> |
