Electronic character display system - uses 35 point matrices with two memories and shift register allowing lateral movement of display characters

The system displays characters on matrixes each consisting of thirty five luminous points. The message displayed can be made to pass from right to left. From integrated circuit memories a six bit binary word is presented in parallel form at the input of a character generator. A counter selects the lines of the character present at the generator input. The character leaves line by line the generator. Shift registers arranged in series ensure the translation of the data onto the display panels. The integrated circuit memories are interchangeable and the speed of display movements or passage is adjustable. The system also includes two gates (3 and 6), two counters (4 and 8) and a flip-flop (5).
