<p>A crystallising appts. is described in which heated plates inside a closed vessel induce evaporation of fluid and hence precipitation of crystals. A rotor filled with a number of blades ensures thorough agitation of the fluid in the vessel, and at the same time ensures that any crystals adhering to the heated plates are removed. The appts. is used for crystallisation of solns. in the chemical and food industries. The scraped surface of the heated plates ensures good heat exchange properties and allows the appts. to be used continuously without having to be shut down periodically for removal of adhering crystal deposits.</p> |
