Film tubing is produced by extruding thermoplastic film froma ring nozzle, cooling the neck of the film, and expanding it out to the required diameter. Before its final expansion, the neck of film is cooled, however, until it has an extremely high viscosity. High mechanical strength tubing is produced by the cold stretching. |
