<p>Packaging device for a number of containers comprises a stretchable and elastic sheet having a number of laterally connected pairs of flat sheet material bands arranged in longitudinal rows with adjacent bands in each row being longitudinally connected to one another. Each lateral and longitudinal connection is creased along the lateral extent of the connection in opposite alternating directions. Used for packaging multiplicity of similar cans, bottles or other articles. Longitudinal stretching of the sheet causes the bends to automatically open and assume a generally upstanding condition for assembly to containers. Device is produced without forming any scrap material as by punching holes and without complex moulding or extrusion appts. Pref. material is low density polyethylene.</p> |
