<p>1497870 Comminuting plastics; mixing apparatus MEIKI SEISAKUSHO KK 31 Oct 1975 [15 Nov 1974] 45557/75 Headings B1C and B2A Apparatus for reclaiming and recycling thermosetting scrap comprises a grinding device 1 Fig. 4 for coarsely grinding the scrap, conveyor 18, 19 to convey the scrap to a pulverizer 14 which delivers pulverized material to a mixer 38 Fig. 3 where it is mixed in desired ratio with fresh virgin material. Gases produced during comminution are purified in a device 69 comprising a heating chamber 71 and a reduction chamber 73 including a catalyzer 74. The device 1 is a hammer mill with built in screen 10 and a corrugated liner 9 of high Mn or Ni-Cr steel. The pulverizer 14 is also a hammer mill with corrugated liner 28 and screen 29. The case of the pulverizer is cooled by a passage or passages 31. The mixer 38 Fig. 3 comprises a disc 53 a sweeper 58, agitator blades 59, fed by weighing devices Wl, W2 Fig. 1 not shown which include measuring buckets 41, 42 to store atomized scrap and virgin material. In operation, when sufficient ground material is in the hopper 17 of the pulverizer 14 as sensed by a limit switch, the grinder 1 is stopped and the pulverizer 14 is driven. Dust is extracted by a fan 62 from the grinder 1 and its hopper 60. Dust from hopper 32 of the pulverizer 14 is exhausted by operation of the pulverizer via a hose 67 into a bag filter 65 Fig. 2. Levels in the hopper 32 are sensed by level switches 83, 83' Fig. 2 and control the conveyor and pulverizer motors. These motors are stopped by limit switches LSI, LS2 of the weighing apparatus which determines the correct pulverized/virgin powder ratio. This ratio is adjusted by adjustment of weights 47, 48. The weighing devices are fed by screw feeders 34, 35 which convey pulverized and virgin material respectively from the hopper 32 or the virgin material hopper 33.</p> |
