<p>1497506 Phosphoramidic condensates LEBLANC RESEARCH CORP 12 Feb 1976 [24 Feb 1975] 05534/76 Heading C2P [Also in Divisions C3 and D1] The invention comprises water-soluble condensates obtained by reacting at least one compound (a) with at least one compound (b): (where Y- is an anion, e.g. chloride, bromide, carbonate, nitrate, sulphate, phosphate, acetate; and R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>3</SP> are each H or CH 2 OH, R<SP>3</SP> alternatively being CH 3 ), the molar ratio (a) : (b) being 0À33 : 1 to 3 : 1. The reaction is preferably effected in a solvent (e.g. water) at 18-120‹ C. The condensates contain the structures I and/or II and may contain terminal P-CH 2 OH or P-NR<SP>1</SP>CH 3 groups. N - (Hydroxymethyl) - N,N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>11</SP> - trimethylphosphoramide is prepared from N,N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>11</SP>-trimethylphosphoramide by reaction with paraformaldehyde. The inventive condensates are used for flameretarding textiles.</p> |
