A detergent composition comprises or is prepared by combining an enzyme, a non-alkoxylated quaternary ammonium surfactant (non-AQA) and an AQA cationic surfactant of formula (I). R1R2N+ApR3(A'qR4) X- (I) R1 = substituted 8-18C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, ether or glycidyl ether; R2 = 1-3C alkyl; R3, R4 = H, Me or Et; X = anion; A, A' = 1-4C alkoxy; p, q = 1-30. Also claimed are: (1) a method for removing soils and stains comprising contacting soils and stains with a detergent composition, or aqueous medium comprising the above detergent composition; and (2) a method for enhancing the deposition or substantivity of perfume or perfume ingredients onto fabrics or other surfaces comprising contacting the surfaces with perfume of perfume ingredient in the presence of compound (I). |
