A now high temperature probe to measure the kinetic energy head and the static pressure can be used in gaseous media at a temperature of up to 4000 deg.K. It is flexurally stiff enough to be suitable for high flow velocities of several times the velocity of sound. The probe consists of an angular Pitot tube which is surrounded by two helical wire spirals. This forms a two-start thread, one as the feed and the other as the return path for a coolant, if a sleeve (4) is pushed over the top leg. The coolant feed tube (5) mates with one start, and the coolant return (6) mates with other start of the thread. The wires are made of an insulating material. The joint between the first and second tube can then be designed as a thermocouple junction.
|
