<p>The control circuit for a two-speed, single-phase alternating current motor has the motor main and auxiliary windings switchable in parallel or in series. A capacitor lies in series with the auxiliary windings, when the parallel configuration is used. An additional winding (3) is connected in series with the main and auxiliary windings (1, 2), when the latter are in their series configuration. The auxiliary winding is so chosen that the capacitor (6) of the parallel arrangement causes optimum phase shift between the main and auxiliary windings. The additional winding may have tappings.</p> |
