The suspended flowmeter for bore-holes provides flow measurements to be made at various depths. A conical, weighted probe is fitted with spring-loaded skids so that it is centrally positioned in a bore-hole when lowered. The suspension cable runs through a guide tube near the well feed pump. The depth of the probe is measured by special rollers attached to an overhead gantry, through which the cable passes to the winding drum. The signals transmitted over the cable are recorded on a chart recorder. The probe is fitted with a turbine blade whose speed of revolution is converted to electrical pulses by a photo-electric chopper system.
