The cooling arrangement is intended for a pump handling hot fluids, particularly heat transfer oil, and driven by a motor. The shaft seal is arranged away from the pump in a housing connected with the pump chamber via a cooling and throttle section, the pump shaft carrying a cooling fan impeller. The air flow from the impeller is directed by a guide to be parallel to the shaft axis to form a narrow envelope current around the housing and the cooling section. The heat dissipating outer surfaces of this housing and the throttle section are freely exposed and not obstructed by other components.
