1497678 Data processing INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS Ltd 22 July 1975 [21 Feb 1975] 7291/75 Heading G4C Groups of data recorded in sequence in a memory are separated by markers which have at least two different values, the value of the marker between successive groups of data being tested by comparison with a threshold value to produce an end of record signal if a selectable relationship to the threshold value is detected, thereby permitting the boundaries of records to be effectively varied. The data from a plurality of memory output channels is time division multiplexed onto a common highway, for comparison with respective threshold values held in a random access store which is addressed by a channel number representing the identity of the channel currently being read out onto the common highway. A further control store is used to select appropriate comparator outputs corresponding to the required relationships for the different channels. The disclosure is identical with that of Specifications 1,492,260; 1,497,676; 1,497,677 and 1,497,679.
