发明名称 Tuning screws fitted in waveguide eliminating cross modulation - have tapped countersunk hole in wall with solder ring
摘要
Matching screws are fitted in waveguides and are used to eliminate undesirable combined frequencies produced by the non-linear characteristics of the waveguide components. The screws are inserted at right angles to the longitudinal axis forming a metallic contact between the inner wall of the waveguide and the thread of the screw. The distance of penetration for tuning will remain unchanged from that of conventional tuners. There is a tapped hole in the wall (2) of the waveguide which is countersunk, so that the remaining wall thickness will only surround a small number of thread turns. The tuning screw (1) is provided with a soldered ring which is screwed into the tap hole. The screw is held by a lock nut (3). Indirect heating is used to solder the tuning screw in position.
