PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather of an engine by which the leakage of oil stored in a crank chamber can be prevented even in any sidelong falling condition of the engine. SOLUTION: A breather chamber 50 along the approximately half circumference of a cylinder bore is formed on an engine body 1, a valve hole 51 for communicating the chamber 50 to a crank chamber and an one-way valve 52 for opening and closing the valve hole 51 are formed on one end part of the breather chamber 50, a pipe connecting hole 56 for connecting a breather pipe 57 is formed on the other end part of the breather chamber 50, and the valve hole 51 and the pipe connecting hole 56 are formed in such manner that at least one of them is located on a position upper than an stored oil level of the crank chamber even in any sidelong falling condition of the engine.
