PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding window capable of tiltup or dropdown inside- takeoff. SOLUTION: The maximum liftup amount of an inside sash 2 is larger than a hitch allowance between the inside sash 2 and a lower frame 5, the dropdown amount of the inside sash 2 is larger than an overlapping dimension between the inside sash and an upper frame 4 and a dimension between an inside lower rail 31 and the indoor face of an outside sash lower rail 11 is larger than the depth dimension of the lower part of the lower rail 11 of the inside sash 2. In this way, the inside sash 2 is dropped down and tilted to the indoor side for dropdown inside-takeoff and the inside sash 2 is lifted up and tilted up at its lower part to the indoor side for tiltup inside-takeoff.
