<p>A control valve particularly suitable for service in mechanical refrigeration systems has a spherical valve body permanently engaging an annular seal and is operated by turning the valve body about an axis perpendicular to the direction of fluid flow through the central opening in the valve seat. A circumferentially flaring notch in the outer circumference of the valve member by-passes the valve seat in the open angular position of the valve member and communicates only with the inlet or the outlet of the valve in the closed valve position.</p> |
