PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for judging the deterioration of the surface of an article in a non-contact and non-destructive manner. SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for judging the surface deterioration of an article 14 to be inspected is equipped with the primary coil 12 connected to an AC current generating part 11 to generate an AC magnetic field, the secondary coil 13 arranged at the position crossing the AC magnetic field by the primary coil 12 and a judge part 16 for judging the quality of the article to be inspected on the basis of the phase and amplitude of induced electromotive force induced in the secondary coil 13.
