PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system and a clone terminal detecting method by which the presence of an illegally copied clone terminal can be detected in a mobile communication system for portable telephone, etc., and can inform a maintenance person of the presence of the clone terminal without having any special function. SOLUTION: By paying attention to the fact that, when the process called as the position registration is performed for informing the location of a mobile terminal to a system for processing an incoming call to the terminal in the event that plural mobile terminals having the same telephone number exist, only the base station information which lastly makes the position registration remains regardless of the mobile terminal, whether the terminal is a normal one or a clone one, the position registration information is compared with transmitted base station information when another mobile terminal makes transmission under the control of another base station.
