The electro-optical modulator control mechanism has a modulator (5) with a superimposed control signal (S1,S1bis) and offset perturbation signal (S2,S2bis). The offset perturbation is superimposed at the minimum dip of the voltage modulation, whilst adjusting the control signal level to minimize the output offset perturbation.
