The stopper has an inner cylinder (2) which fits inside the neck of the bottle. The cap (4) is flat and circular and is integral with the inner cylinder. The outside of the cap is essentially cylindrical but has a re-inforced base (6). The outside of the bottle neck has an outer ring (11) and a top lip (10) separated by a groove (12). The stopper is fitted with two inner rings (15, 16) which fit under the bottle ring and top lip. The edges of the inner rings are sharp so as to form a seal on the lid, and to pull it down on the top of the bottle neck.
