Odourless or low-smelling resinous compsn. contains low-smelling, crosslinking monomer (I) and (meth)acrylic acid-modified polybutadiene resin (II) or unsatd. polyester resin (III). The monomer is prepd. by reacting glycidyl ester synthetic fatty acid (e.g. versatic acid) or vegetable oil-fatty acid (linseed oil, fatty acid, soy bean fatty acid, dehydrated castor oil-fatty acid, etc.) with (meth)acrylic acid on heating. Resin (II) contains reactive double bond at the end of the molecule and is prepd. by reacting the active gp., introduced into the end of polybutadiene molecule, with the carboxyl gp. in acrylic acid or methacrylic acid. Resin (III) may commercially available unsatd. polyester resin, pref. contg. >98% nonvolatile matter. |
