The bracelet-type electrode is particularly for use in examination of a patient by rheoplethysmography. A number of flexible metal tongues are fixed to an elastic supporting band, and over lapping each other at the ends, so that they slide over each other as the band is stretched. They can be curved and fixed to the band at regular intervals by their centres. The band can be of elastic latex or similar material, with hooks at the ends to allow adjustable fitting to suit the circumference of the limb enclosed. The tongues can be connected together by an electrical conductor of very low resistance, so that potential is equal over the entire contact surfaces.
|
