Seal for high pressure urea synthesiser - with toothed austenitic steel core with rubber-asbestos layers on both sides

Seal for high-pressure urea synthesiser comprises a toothed sealing core of austenitic steel, on either side of which is a rubber-asbestos layer which is adjusted to a chloride content of approx. 100-300 ppm and which is pref. approx. 0.5mm thick. The seal between two flanges has a hole for a bolt extending through the flanges to apply the sealing forces. Corrosion phenomena no longer occur at the sealing surfaces, nor at the core of the seal. The seal is also suitable for any other appts. which is constructed of austenitic steel to prevent corrosion.
