The electrical plug device having a plug and coupling part is used to create an electrical protection against touching in that the current-carrying parts of the coupling part are covered when the plug is removed. When the plug pins (3) are inserted, a slide (9) is moved transversely with respect to the plug insertion direction, as a result of which the current-carrying sockets behind the slide (9) are then exposed. In the case of a first embodiment, the slide (9) is moved in that said slide (9) contains retaining holes (10) for the plug pins (3) and the slide, together with the plug pins (3), is pressed against spring pressure into a position (direction B) which is aligned with the current-carrying sockets. In the case of a second embodiment, the slide (9) has oblique surfaces against which the plug pins come to rest during insertion, the sockets being released by the plug insertion pressure. <IMAGE>
