The semi-finished product consists of a film having a thickness of 10 to 100 mu m, preferably of 30 to 40 mu m, which is coated with alloyed gold on one side. The gold alloy contains a proportion which is greater than 0 and up to 30% by weight, preferably 2 to 10% by weight, of one of the metals nickel, palladium or platinum. A coating which can be welded or soldered and which produces the connection to a carrier is applied onto this alloyed gold layer. The semi-finished product is used for electrical contacts which are operated on a contact carrier in a cable conduit.
