The shell-side baffles in a shell-and tube heat exchanger are each divided into two or more co-planar sections and the sections of one baffle are displaced w.r.t. those of adjacent baffles, in an already known way. Tests with the present heat exchanger have shown that the eddies and dead spaces found behind conventional baffles are practically eliminated, and higher heat transfer with lower press. drops are obtd.
|
