High voltage circuit breaker hydraulic actuator - has auxiliary accumulator between pump and main accumulator to reduce pump capacity

Reduced power requirements for the hydraulic actuator supply for the starting period in the control of high-voltage circuit breakers is achieved by installing an auxiliary accumulator between the pump and the main accumulator. The pump charges the auxiliary accumulator and compensation of leaks during the initial starting period allows for setting of the control valves. The unit operates the moving contact (1) of the circuit breaker whose insulator rod (2) is connected to the piston (3) of the cylinder (4). The piston is of the differential type with the small area (6) subject to pressure of the accumulator (8). The flow is controlled by a valve (9) with a step spool. The auxiliary accumulator (18) has a floating piston (19) loaded by a spring (20) with its pressurization is controlled by the setting of springs (25/30) of its control unit.
