The tape recorder is for cassette record players, and has a series of pins applied to the back to operate a series of pins applied to the back to operate a series of switches. The recorder has spring loaded sensors which control recorder functions in accordance with the cassette properties. A switching unit (5) with several parallel sensors (10-12) in a plane is close to the back side of an inserted cassette. The sensors rest on the cassette back wall or enter into cassette inside. Each sensor is in the form of a movable pin with coaxial resetting spring, and independently controls different operations.
