Fructose determn. in aq. soln. contg. glucose - comprising pre-treatment with glucose-oxidase, catalase and/or peroxidase to destroy glucose and peroxide

Quantitative determn. of fructose in glucose-contg. aq. soln. takes place by reaction with adenosine triphosphate under enzyme catalysis with carrier-bonded hexokinase, phosphoglucose-isomerase and glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase and with a reducible eoenzyme. The glucose-contg. aq. fructose soln. is pre-treated with a carrier-bonded glucose-oxidase as well as carrier bonded catalyase and/or peroxidase, until (i) all glucose in fructose soln. and (ii) H2O2 formed in enzyme-catalysed reaction are destroyed. Fructose can be determined accurately by a simple, direct method.
