The simplified trailer suspension has the axle (4) secured on a frame (8) whose leading edge is pivoted from the chassis by a bracket (5) while the rear end is braced under the chassis by an airbag (6). As the airbag is compressed it increases the area of contact with the chassis so that larger loadings can be accommodated. The amount of suspension displacement is considerably less than for telescopic dampers. No control valves are required. The optimum shape of the air bag is a dome shaped cushion. The extension of the suspension is limited by a simple strap between the chassis and the frame.
