Appts. for mfg. a silo by winding comprises a vertically movable platform bearing a winding head, and a revolving ring for rotating a cylindrical silo core, with its peripheral surface located near the winding head, about its centre axis. The revolving ring is mounted on a base erected at the intended site of the silo, and forms a stand surface for the silo core. A temporary erected support guides the platform. The support pref. consists of two arms to the upper ends of which is attached a crossbeam. Transport of the conventionally mfd. silo becomes superfluous, so that silos fo dia. >4m. can be mfd.
