1532524 Potassium oxide-silicates from wood ash E C BETZ 18 June 1976 [25 Aug 1975] 25484/76 Heading C1A [Also in Division C5] Stable potassium oxide containing silicates for example having a melting point of not greater than 1200‹ C. are produced in a method of lowering the potassium oxide content of wood fly ash generated by burning wood particles wherein the wood particles are mixed with at least one alkali metal silicate having a melting point not greater than 1200‹ C. and with silica, simultaneously or subsequently burning the mixture and withdrawing the potassium oxide containing silicate as a molten slag. Another alkali metal compound (e.g. hydroxide or carbonate) having a melting point not greater than 1200‹ C. may be present in the mixture. |
