<p>Mfr. of a dental prosthesis incorporating permanent magnets is carried out by prefabricating the prosthesis with teeth and a plastic tooth support, and adapting it to the buccal cavity and/or jaw of the wearer. Grooves extending across the teeth and/or support are formed at the points at which magnets are to be incorporated, and permanent magnet blocks are inserted and fixed in the grooves. The grooves are then closed with a plastics compsn. conforming to the teeth and/or support, pref. a curable plastics e.g. acrylic resin which is dyed the colour of the teeth and/or support. The method allows easy incorporation of magnets with optimum dimensions and arrangements.</p> |
