<p>Single- or multi-strand steel cable comprises a synthetic fibre sheath which is fused to the strands or wires. The thermoplastically varied cross-sectional area comprises only a small proportion of the total cross-section of the sheath. The sheathed strands are pref. heated by HF current or inductively. The cable thus acquires a grip surface which is pleasant to feel for hands and bare feet, and which is highly resistant to abrasion for the purposes of safety and durability, partic. for use in climbing ropes and nets for children.</p> |
