Optical instrument permits examination of an object, esp. the inner eye, with reduced specular reflection through a transparent, reflecting and diffusing medium. Light from a source is reflected by the object and through the medium to an image recorder. A light guide directs the light to achieve rapid repeated illumination of consecutive parts of the object. A diaphragm located between the medium and the image recorder has a movable aperture which can be moved with the light guide for rapid scanning of the consecutively illuminated parts of the object. The rest of the diaphragm masks out the specular reflection. The light guide is pref. a rotating diaphragm and optical fibres are pref. used to transmit the light from the light guide to the object.
|
