A magazine dispenser for tablets uses two loading stations to minimise cycle time and to ensure that an exact number of tablets are deposited in containers. Tablets are passed into a feed chute (2) and a predetermined number allowed to fall into one chamber of a loading chuts (5). The tablets are retained by a stop (6). While one chute is filling, the other is discharging into a hopper (8) to fill a container (9). The loading station (4) has two positions and is moved by a double acting air cylinder (11). The arrangement avoids unnecessary waiting time while a loading chute is filled.
