<p>The lifting beam, for materials transport underground, is linked to two trolleys riding I section monorails at the roof Two horizontal load chains on the beam are deflected down by sprockets at the beam ends and terminate in load hooks. The beam load chains (15, 16) can be extended or retracted by hydraulically operated drives without interposed or downstream gearing. The drive consists of an hydraulic lifting cylinder (19) placed at one end of the beam or acting as a centre member in the case of a multipart beam. The cylinder thus forms a load-bearing part of the beam. The cylinder moves both chains and hooks (20) at once via the sprockets (27, 28) fitted to the head of the piston rod (26).</p> |
