Material coil holder for drawing machine - has bracket on baseplate with drums having spiral grooves thrusting coils against it

The material coil holder is for wire to be delivered to e.g. a drawing machine. It comprises a bracket (3) mounted on a baseplate (2), and drums (4) to accommodate the coils (A). The surfaces of the drums have spiral grooves (5) of opposite pitch, tending to thrust the coils towards the bracket as the drums rotate. The drums can be of conical shape, tapering towards the bracket, and there can also be grooves (4-1) in their surfaces, running in the lengthwise direction. The design prevents the coils slipping off the drums while being fed to the drawing machine, while avoiding the need for a retainer ring, which has to be removed and refitted each time a new coil is loaded onto them.
