1525686 Separating krypton and xenon from nuclear waste gas LINDE AG 16 March 1977 [19 March 1976] 11046/77 Heading B1W A process for separating krypton and xenon containing radioactive isotopes from a nuclear plant waste gas which also contains nitrogen and argon as carrier gases, and other components, e.g. nitrogen oxides and oxygen, comprises removing these other components, e.g. by catalytic reduction and adsorbtion, cooling the residual gas and removing krypton from the cooled gas by fractional distillation, wherein prior to the removal of the krypton, xenon is removed from the waste gas by adsorption e.g. using a carbon bed which may also contain zeolite to adsorb carbon dioxide.
|
