Lactosyl substituted ureides in ruminant feedstuff

The use of an ureide of the general formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 is lactosyl, X is selected from the group consisting of O, S or =NH, and R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, glucosyl and alkyl, as a non-protein nitrogen source in ruminant feedstuffs or feed supplements, and a process for preparing such an ureide.
