PURPOSE: An air cleaner for a vehicle is provided to minimize the fluctuation of engine output by removing the resistance of the air sucked into an engine and to damp noise and vibration generated when air is sucked by maximizing the capacity of an air cleaner. CONSTITUTION: An air cleaner(100) for a vehicle comprises a cylindrical air cleaner case(110) having closed lower portion and open upper portion; a suction port(140) protruded to the exterior of the air cleaner case to suck the exterior air; a case cover(120) closing the open upper face of the air cleaner case and having a discharge outlet in the center; a filter element received in the air cleaner case to filter the exterior air sucked via the suction port; a discharge duct(130) internally contacting to the discharge outlet of the case cover and closely connected to the case cover to change the flow of the air filtered by the filter element; and an air hose(150) connected to the discharge duct to guide the filtered air to an intake manifold of an engine. Since the length of the air hose is short and formed in a linear shape, air resistance is not generated and the volume of the air cleaner is increased.
