PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a frame in a CPE(Customer Premises Equipment) of an ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) transmission system is provided to efficiently use a bandwidth by sensing that the number of slave is changed in a master and reassigning the bandwidth using a D channel bit. CONSTITUTION: A master(200) sets a D channel bit value for setting a bandwidth as "1000(default value)", generates a down frame including the D channel value, and transmits the generated down frame to a slave(300)(1201). The slave(300) judges whether the D channel value for setting the bandwidth included in the transmitted frame is "1000"(1211). If the D channel value for setting the bandwidth is "1000", the slave(300) sets the D channel value for setting the bandwidth as "1000"(1212). The slave(300) assigns 6 channels of 4 telephones for a basic voice call and 2 computers for a data communication, and an up frame including assigned channel information to the master(200)(1213). The master(200) judges whether the transmitted D channel value for setting the bandwidth is identical to the D channel value for setting the bandwidth included in the transmitted up frame(1221). If the transmitted D channel value for setting the bandwidth is identical to the D channel value for setting the bandwidth included in the transmitted up frame, the master(200) assigns the bandwidth to 6 channels of the 4 telephones for the basic voice call and the 2 computers for the data communication, and transmits a down frame including assigned channel information to the slave(300)(1222).
